If you haven’t been watching Queer As Folk, then there is something wrong with you! I freaking love that show! I just finished watching this week’s new episode. The show is so awesome. Aside from the hot guys on the show, the writers make great commentary on the issues of today. Like this week’s episode – two of the characters (both of them men) got married in Canada. I almost started crying. To see the two guys, who are a normal family raising a teen, be able to have their love recognized by a state entity was truly beautiful.

When I was younger and growing up, I never got to see what two guys looked like getting married. I never got to dream about myself being married. Even now, before tonight, the thought of me being able to get married was a foreign one. But now that I’ve seen it, even though it is TV, it has made me really question the morality of people who say that gay marriage is wrong, or that it is chipping away at the social fabric of our society. What bullshit. Seeing those two people stand up on the alter before THEIR God, and become a legal married couple was truly inspiring. Seeing this episode has truly cemented my stance on gay marriage—full rights of gay marriage.

So now that I’ve had my inspiring moment of the week, I now need to go and study some more for my friggin Biology test tomorrow morning.
