Merry Christmas!

Thursday, December 23, 2004

Today’s been a good day. Danielle and I never went and had breakfast this morning. We both were really tired and didn’t feel like getting out of bed. Right now I’m at Jon’s house on his laptop writing this entry. He’s reading the latest issue of GQ; I’m being nosey and searching through Jon’s computer. Haven’t found any dirt. lol =(

But yeah, tonight was fun. Jenifer, Brian, Jon, and I went to eat at McAlister’s for dinner. Then we went bowling. I broke 100 the first game, but the second game I only got a 67. Sad Panda. Jon and I were hungry again, so we all went to Wendy’s after bowling. So, why is it that just about every establishment in Roswell looks so freaking nice? This was a Wendy’s people, but it looked better than most people’s houses!! Jenifer took some pictures, hopefully I’ll get them from her and I’ll post them. But yeah, we all sat and talked and laughed. It was fun. Jon invited me to his house to stay the night so I decided to come over. It’s been fun, but I’m a bit tired. I have to work tomorrow: 4pm till closing. Great. I bet the store is going to be crowed with wonderful people. I can’t wait.

Well it’s off to bed my friends. Until next time.

Good day!

I’m really bored at the moment. Seeing as how it’s 4 something in the morning you would think I would be having the time of my life. But no, I’m sitting here with my laptop reading about the history of Barnes & Noble. Wow. Heh. But I have been talking to a friend from high school that recently come out of the closet. He and his boyfriend have been together for four months. Thank you. Maybe I should start a count of how long it’s been since I’ve been with someone. No, that would just be bitter, well shit, I am bitter. But no need to dwell.

The break has been peaceful and productive so far. Like I mentioned in the previous post, I’ve just been working and sleeping. No offense to anyone, but I needed sometime to get my brain back. I loaned it out to all the books and notes I read during finals week. I’m finally getting them all back.

Today I’m supposed to have breakfast with Danielle, and then go bowling with Jon, Jenifer, and Brian later on tonight. At some point I need to purchase an air filter for my car. Adam had to show me where that goes. Stupid me.

Yesterday I went to Papa John’s to pick up a pizza for my Grandmother and myself – this guy who worked there kept eyeing me. Like, OMG can I have my face back, please, eyeing! But it was nice to be looked at. He was extra nice to me, it was kinda funny. When I got my pizza from the woman working up front, I asked her if she could get me some crushed red peppers, she agreed and went to the back to get some. He walked up to the front counter—while he was tossing a pizza—and asked me if I needed anything. I looked into his eyes and firmly replied, “Yes, she went to get peppers for me.” What I was trying to say with my eyes was: “BITCH ask me for my cell number because I’m too much of a puss to ask for yours or give you mine!!!” But of course, he said “ok” and went back to making pizzas. Damn. Then I went home and ate pizza with my grandmother while we watched “The Biggest Loser” on TV. I felt worse.

Ok, well I’m tired and my fingers hurt—from typing you slut!

Here’s an article that just made me shake my head:

"American soldier shoots Iraqi after sex"
Associated Press

published Tuesday, December 21, 2004

A National Guardsman who pleaded guilty to killing a 17-year-old Iraqi soldier said he shot the young man after they had consensual sex in a guard tower, a newspaper reported Saturday, citing court-martial records.
Pvt. Federico Daniel Merida, 21, pleaded guilty to murder without premeditation and other charges during a court-martial in Iraq in September.
Merida was sentenced Sept. 25 to 25 years in prison and reduced in rank and will be dishonorably discharged. He is being held at Fort Leavenworth, Kan., a Leavenworth spokeswoman said.
Army officials at Forward Operating Base Danger, where the court-martial was held in Iraq, had previously withheld details of the case.
However, The News & Observer of Raleigh reported Saturday that records show Merida and the Iraqi were on guard duty May 11 in a tower on the perimeter of an Army camp near Tikrit in northern Iraq. At about 10:30 p.m., Merida shot the teen 11 times with his carbine.
Merida first told investigators the teen demanded money at gunpoint. Later, he said he killed the boy because he forced him to have sex. In a third interview, Merida said he got angry after the two had consensual sex.
Merida also pleaded guilty to two counts of giving false statements.
Merida apologized to the victim's family during the court-martial, records show. "He was a son, a brother, someone very important to them," he said. "I took someone they loved and cared for."
Merida, who was born in Veracruz, Mexico, has a wife and toddler son.

I’ll comment on this horrific story of stupidity later. Until then….

Good day!

How cool is this? I’m sitting in the Starbucks section of our Barnes & Noble on break. I’ve been here at the store since 6 today. I love this whole wireless thing. But yeah, Barnes & Noble has been working me since I’ve been here in Atlanta. I got here Friday night and they had me on the schedule for Saturday night. I worked Saturday night, Sunday, and today (Monday). Whew. But it’s been a nice change of pace. Being around all these books is wonderful. Guess who came into the store today? None other then Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin. She asked me where the Poetry section was, and I helped her. HA! I helped Mrs. Shirley Franklin. How cool!

So last week was fun. Well, more like horrible. Never take six classes in one semester. You know why? Because you have to take six finals in one week. But of course I’ll be taking six classes next semester so I’ll be going through the same thing again. My break is almost over. Here is how my grades ended up.

Astronomy – C (I was thankful for that!)
American Lit – B
Spanish 2 – B
Global Politics – A
World History 1 – B
Health – B

Not awesome, but ok seeing as how I was taking six classes.

Time to work!

Good day!

Um, yeah...so I'm reading my Health book for the final tomorrow in that class, I thought I would share a line from the health book that I thought was a bit...well you decide:

The vagina is warm, dark, and moist, and ideal breeding environment for a variety organisms.

Do you know where your vagina has been?
So right now I’m sitting in Jeff’s office for an RA meeting. I’m tired and ready to go to bed. Shit I hate finals. I’m not sure what this meeting is supposed to be about. I have to study for my Astronomy final that is 8:00am tomorrow morning. YAY. I’m so not ready for that final, LORD I hope I do well on that final. I feel like it’s a repeat of Biology this summer. Jesus help meh.

Today has been a so so day. Kind of uneventful. Oh, but I did get my essay back from Ms. Sims—I got an 89 on the paper. The problem with the paper was some problems I had with APA style. I’ve never had to write a paper in APA style, I’ve always done MLA style. She said all I had to do was correct some of my citing stuff and I would get an A. So you know I took that paper back and corrected it…I went and handed it back in later on this afternoon.

This evening I went to the City Commissioners Meeting. Since SGC won first place in the Christmas Parade, we were presented with a nice little trophy. How nice.

I’m still sitting in the RA meeting right now. I’m looking like I’m paying attention but I’m typing this post. Ha.

Tired.

Sleepy.

Bed.

Finals.

Shit.

Double Shit.

Bed.

Astronomy.

Good day!

My baby’s here, my new baby. His name is Sebastian. It’s my laptop!!! It came on the UPS Friday morning. Of course I was standing in Thrash Hall waiting for the UPS driver to bring in the daily delivery, which happened to carry to my brand new baby. I’m so excited! It feels nice and smooth—the laptop that is. I’m very happy with my purchase. Luckily, we have wireless internet in the dorms, so I can sit anywhere and do my thang. HA!

Right now I’m sitting at the radio station in the studio working the board for a remote. Fun, but not really. I have about an hour and 15 minutes left. I’m going back to my room for a little nap. After I rise from the nap, it’s study time. Finals are next week. My Global Politics final is a take home test, (AWESOME!) I’ve already completed that, so now I only have five finals next week. Astronomy and Health Tuesday, World History and American Lit on Wednesday, and Spanish 2 on Thursday. Fun times.

I rented the "Stepford Wives" last night. I haven’t finished the movie yet; I got tired and went to sleep. The part that I did see was weird; it was kind of choppy, like they had left out some stuff. Not sure, maybe that was intentional.

Something is wrong with my Grandfather. I think he has to have some sort of surgery or something. When I called my mother yesterday she was just going to the hospital to check up on him. I hope that works out. He’s had so many problems in the past five years. One thing after the other, he’s always in pain.

Ok, well I’ll get back to actually working.

Good day!

Yay for the last week of school – boo for finals during the last week. Six finals I’ll be taking next week. Yes my friends, six. What a fun time next week will be. I’ll probably lose a bunch of hair from the stress. But sadly, I like it—the stress that is. I seem to thrive off the stress. Weird.

Hmmm…things have been steady. I had three papers due last week, one due this morning. I found out Monday that I made a 92 on my history paper; I think a YAY is in order for that! I find out my grade for my American Lit, Global Politics, and Astronomy paper next week during finals.

The newspaper came out this week. Not sure how people took it. People don’t talk to me about the newspaper when it comes out. I try to get as many people as I can to comment on the paper and give some constructive criticism, but no one wants to. I don’t understand. But I thought it was ok, the colors were messed up because of the printing press—other than that I was pleased. I’ve heard some hear say about an old writer dissing the paper. Bitch. Nuff said on that.

I’m listening to the Fantasia cd right now, it’s pretty good. During Thanksgiving break when I was in Outwrite with Brandon, they played her cd. Loved it, so I bought it this week. She has a nice variety of songs—some fast, some slow, some you want to shake your groove thang to, all around pretty good.

Last weekend I participated in the local Christmas parade. I helped build the float for the school, well not build, I really just looked at them build and took the trash to the dumpster. Don’t put a hammer or drill in my hand. Out of all the millions of float in the parade, our school won first place!! Another YAY in order there! Phillip (Activities Director) then took all of us out to Golden Carole Sunday evening after we took the float down. So how about I almost ate myself to death, but it was so worth it. I love food. Really, I do. If I could, I think I would marry a hamburger. Forget getting a boyfriend, just give me a nice burger and I’m content. Not really, but burger will do for now.

UGA time!!! I don’t know if I want to live on campus or get an apartment. I don’t know why I’m talking like I’ve already been accepted—I’ll be applying when I return from Christmas break. Dr. Jackson (the President of the college) said he would write me a recommendation. Awesome. Gosh I hope I get in. The more I think about it the more I really want to head up there.

OH OH…I get my laptop Monday!!! Ordered it from dell.com last weekend…I’ve been tracking it everyday this week. Last time I checked (5 minutes ago), the laptop had just left the Doraville UPS station en route to Douglas, GA.UPS store? UPS hub? Not sure).

The radio station has got me working a lot more lately. The secretary has been out for about two weeks so I’ve been going in helping with answering the phones and filing. But being able to be there during the afternoons has helped; I’ve got to record two commercials and write one for the station. I haven’t heard my self on the radio yet—it doesn’t help that I don’t even listen to station I work at. Well we play Classis Hits aKa crap.

Ok, so Christmas break will be about working at Barnes & Noble and seeing people I haven’t seen forever. And yes Kori, I will be seeing you all over the break. Alan, I’m so sorry I haven’t called! We still need to visit Kori at Georgia Southern next semester.

OMG. I have to give a little plug to Ryan. Go over to the little bar on the left of the screen and under other people’s blogs, click on Ryan’s. This boy (wait, this is no boy, scratch that), I mean man is going places.

Sam N. goes to Iran tomorrow to visit her family for the Christmas break. I’m scared for her. I told her if something happens she should call me so we can record it and I can narrate it for CNN. We both can finally be real journalists on CNN. Oh yeah.

Samantha B. wants to have a Christmas party this weekend. But one of our wonderful friends who shall remain nameless wants to invite certain people, which is sure to invoke drama if said people grace us with their presence. Hmm…I don’t know if that’s a good idea. We shall see.

Fizzle.

Sizzle.

Those words were just said on the Fantasia cd. I love it. I think I should start saying fizzle.

I’m tired. I need to finish up here and hit my wonderful bed.

Good day!
