Busy busy busy…the end of the semester is in sight. Thank you Jesus!
Thanksgiving was great. Going home is always weird for me. It’s kind of surreal, like when I walk into my house I’m reminded of high school, and all of the moments I went through inside my house. Like sitting in the kitchen talking on the phone to Luke for hours when we first met back during Christmas break of senior year. Or talking to Michael on the phone in my room about whatever. Talking to Jenifer while watching tv. Or the MANY hours I spent on my computer in my small dust ridden room. The memories come flooding back.
Quick run down of what happened on break.
Tuesday-I couldn’t leave school Tuesday because of my wonderful job as being an RA. We planned the newspaper Thanksgiving dinner for Tuesday night. That was AWESOME! We all brought different parts of a Mexican dinner. We sat around eating that. (Pictures below) Then someone suggested we play “Hide and go seek.” And guess what? We did. We ran, hid, and screamed all over Powell Hall. It was great. We then played ‘Sardines.’ All in all, it was a pretty fun night. I got to have me cupcakes from Melts Away Gourmet. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM…..Around 11:00 everyone left, so I started work on the newspaper. I worked until about 3AM, and then went to bed.
Wednesday-Woke up, did some laundry, and hit the road. I rode all the way up 75 singing and just enjoying the time my mind could just sit and run though all the thoughts in my head. I arrived at that wonderful house I call home. I unpacked everything and called Brandon. We decided to go and get some dinner, so we went to Joe’s on Juniper Street. Lot’s of gays at this place. VERY fun. Our waiter…mmmm…good looking one he was!! Then we drove around downtown, went to Krispy Kreme and got some doughnuts!! Went to Centennial Olympic park and walked around. It was COLD as hell, but it was awesome though. Went home and took my ass to sleep.
Thursday- Yay for Thanksgiving. Went to Uncle’s house with Grandma and feasted on some good home cooking! Very nice. Came home. Slept. Woke up around 8 and watched Will & Grace – gosh I miss watching that show! I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time. I need to make time so I can watch that show every week! I went and rented a movie. Fun.
Friday-Went shopping with Grandma. I bought this WONDERFUL coat from Target. I love it. We did Christmas shopping for the family at various stores. I got a call from Jon—he invited me to pizza at his house with some friends and family. That was nice. I got to see people from RHS again. I hadn’t seen some of them since I graduated, so that was cool.
Saturday-Church. What can I say? Um, fun. Brandon and I were going to see the play with naked people that night, but we are under F-ing age, so we couldn’t see it. But I’m not too old to pay taxes and go to war?! Bullshit. Since we couldn’t get in, we went to Outwrite and his friend’s Gilmer’s house. Then we ate at this place called the Majestic. I then went home.
Sunday-Woke up BUTT ass (ha) early and packed my crap. Said my goodbyes and headed back down the road to Douglas. I got to Douglas from Atlanta in a record 3 hours! That was exciting. I wonder if I can do that again when I go home for Christmas break?!
So the December edition of the newspaper is sent off to the press. Hopefully we will get it back either Friday or Monday. I won’t have to work on a newspaper until late January! Now I’m working on my American Lit paper that is due Wednesday. Yay. But not.
Ok, I’m tired and don’t want to do this, so….
Good day!
