I just wrote, “It’s been a fun few weeks.” HA! That’s a joke. Last week wasn’t the best for me. Well I don’t think it was the best for anyone. It was the week that we got back from Spring Break so we were all kind of dazed the whole week. I was feeling fin until about 50 seconds ago. I’m at my friend’s house tonight. Were both going to try out for Graduation Speeches next week. He just read his to me, Oh My Goodness. His is so good. It makes mine look like a piece of dog crap, which it is. But thankfully were trying out for different speeches. (Sigh of relief) Let’s see….. This past Saturday was SO much fun. I got to see Michael! It was so fun. Jenifer and Jon took me to see him. The four of us went to “Friday’s” and had some dinner. We then drove around for a while, while Michael and I got, um, to know each other a little better. It was fun. He is so cute and fun. After that I spent the night at Jon’s house. He was all sad and we ended up talking until 3 in the morning. He had to be up at 7 for church, I felt sorry for him! I also got my tux for prom. How fun. Ok, now that I’ve looked at Ryan’s writing again, it just reminds me of how bad I am. This sucks! Now I don’t want to be a writer. Ugh. Any who, there’s only 23 days of school left! YAY! Maybe I an ok writer, I just have to develop the talent. Blah. Well now that my night has been ruined, I will see you all later!

It’s really funny. Whenever it gets late I always get into one of those reflective moods about life and everything. I don’t have on particular thought or anything, I’m just thinking about everything at once. You know, in thirty school days one part of my life will be over. I will be a graduate of high school. That freaks the living hell out of me, but then it comforts me to know that I can actually make it through hell. I’ve gotten some battle scars, but I pretty much made it through. It sucks, I have this great boyfriend, but we never get to see each other. It will be two months on the 27th of April that we have been together but we have only seen each other one time. It sucks a lot. I just hope that this is meant to be. I’m scared for college. Everyone knows what he or she is doing next year, and I still don’t. It just makes me so angry that I have to go through all this extra crap to get what I want. But isn’t that how it usually works, the people who want it really bad are the people who have to wait and go through so much to get what they want. But then again I think it makes you a better person. You know how to work for what you want. I feel like there’s something that’s on my mind, but I don’t know what. Does everyone feel like this? Does everyone have this nagging feeling like there’s something wrong? I don’t know, that’s how I feel a lot of times, like there’s something wrong, like I should be in some sort of emotional pain. I hate this feeling, ugh, I’m supposed to be happy, but I feel as though I’m not. I guess I’ll go to sleep, I’ll feel better when I wake up. The next few weeks are going to be crazy. So much to do in so little time and then it will all be over. Can’t wait.

So it's been a while since I written in this. I've been super busy. But it's Spring Break this week, YAY, and I'm at work. I never imagined my senior year Spring Break to turn out like this, but hey, at least I'm making some money. I just wrote something, I don't know why, I just felt like I needed to write it. I don't know what to do with it. Tell me what you think.
It has been a pleasure to attend Roswell High School for the past four years, even attending Crabapple Middle School was, a, um, pleasure. I know no one wants to hear any advice from me, but I like to say a few departing words to Roswell High School before I leave.
First, I would like to say thank you to the faculty and students of Roswell High School. Over the past four years I have gained friendships that I will keep for the rest of my life. I have seen students and teachers act selfless when it came to helping someone out who was in need. It just amazed me sometime to see how some Roswell students would come together to help someone out. Even though I am anxious to leave Roswell, I will miss it (only a little) when I'm gone. I think we all will.
Before I leave dear old Roswell, I would like to impart of some wisdom for the future classes. I think everyone should be a bit more tolerant. I pride myself on being the person who is most open minded. But as I reached the end of this year, I was having a conversation with a football player and I jokingly asked him if he was coming to a play production the drama class was putting on that evening. He said no, and I responded by saying, 'figures." He gave me this look that said, "Why are you stereotyping me?" When I had a chance to think about it in depth, I noticed that it was true. I was stereotyping him, I wasn't as open minded as I thought. I have made it a point not to go to any Roswell High School sporting events. My reasoning was always, "If they (athletes) don't come to chorus and drama events, why I should go to theirs?" Looking back on this, I see how flawed my thought process was. We should experience something that isn't the norm for us. If you’re an art person and never been to a sporting event, go to one, you just might like. If you’re a top basketball player and have never been to a chorus concert, take a night out of the month and go to see it. You just might like it. We have to open up our minds and be willing to try new things. I wish I had done that.
With that said, thank you Roswell for four very interesting years.

I'm here, I'm alive, and that's all that really matters. I'm at school right now bored out of my mind. Let's see... last week was so bad. I don't know what was wrong with me, I was like in some kind of rut or something. But I'm all better now and life is just peachy keen, well expect for that nagging in voice in the back of my head that tells me to..... Ok, that's my way of trying to be funny, but of couse it doesn't work. I'm so happy this year is almost over, I mean, I'm nervous because there's so muc crap going on, but I'm happy it's almost over. I just want to have a fun summer, and do stuff. I don't just want to work the whole time. This will be the last summer where I will be a "kid." Well as much as I can be one. But who knows, hopefully it should get very interesting. Well it's time for me to go. I shall see you later. Does anyone read this?

Well, there's not much to report on. Life is peachy keen right now, and yes, I just said peachy keen! I need to start writing in this on a regular basis. For some reason in my mind I think I have to have some earth shattering news to be able to write in here. But I want the everyday stuff. Right now I'm at Ashley's house. She's sleep and I'm awake and it's 12:24AM. I should be asleep, but I don't sleep. I was telling Ashley that I get about four hours of sleep each night, not good. But yeah, so I've run out of things to talk about, sooooo I guess this is good bye for now. Bye-bye.

Be careful what you wish for. You hear that phrase in movies and television a lot, but I never really knew the true meaning of that phrase until today. My Mom came to pick me up and take me downtown to ‘Underground Atlanta’ to visit Michael, who was researching a project there. On the way, I asked my mother about my father, again—I’ve been asking my mother about the whole reason behind my Father’s disappearing act so long ago. She would always brush it off and say that she would tell me at a later date. I finally got to her today and she decided to tell me. Before she starts to tell the story, she looks me in the eye (while driving, eck!) and asks me if I really want to know. I say yes, with a smile. (I’m such an idiot at times) She starts the story in December of 1984. She was working downtown at a Bonding Company; at the time her car wasn’t working so she was taking Marta to work everyday. At the time she was dating a man named Michael F. So one dark and depressing night my mother was leaving work, another uneventful day at work. She’s standing at the bus stop waiting for the bus to come. All of a sudden she hears some noises in the background and someone attack’s her. To spare my self from crying I’m not going to go into details. But to make a long story short, my mother was raped. She told her boyfriend, Michael F., what happened. She comforted her and made her feel ok again. A couple of months later she found out that she was pregnant. She hadn’t told any of her family what had happened that awful night in December, she still didn’t want to tell them. She and Michael had a long talk and they decided that she would keep the unborn child and raise it to be Michael’s child. As the months grew on, she grew distant from Michael; one day she told him that she was going to end it with him. He went crazy; he threatened to tell everyone about their secret. One thing he didn’t realize, pregnant women are crazy! (JOKE!) He used his better judgment and decided not to tell anyone. Sometime in late August, Miguel F. was born. He was born to a wonderful loving family and a wonderful mother who vowed to never tell the awful secret of how he got here. So that’s my true story that I just found out today. I’m here on earth because someone raped my mother. I don’t really know how to feel right now. I don’t think it’s really sunk in yet. It’s like my hand is trying to wrap itself around my brain and understand all of it, but I can’t. To me, it’s like my last name, F. isn’t real anymore. There’s one side of me that I will never know about. My mind even wonders to the darker side of things, am I meant to be such an evil person in life, or was I sent here to do good? I hope the latter is true. My mom has been through so much in her life, she’s had to carry around this secret for seventeen years. I don’t know how she did it. I don’t know how she can even look at me sometimes. It seems as if every time she would look at me it would remind her of that awful night in 1984. But like I said before, be careful for what you wish for, in the end you might just get it.
I am so lucky to have found someone so awesome and…I don’t know, I’m just so happy right now. Here is an e-mail I just sent him:
Hello, what's up? It's 11:54PM on a Saturday night and I'm sitting here bored out of my ass. I should be going to sleep now because I have to get up and go to this Prayer Breakfast at my church tomorrow morning. I don't know if you'll get this e-mail in time, but are you still going downtown tomorrow? I was just curious as to what your plans are for tomorrow. I haven't talked to you all day and I really miss you. I like talking to you, even if it's just mindless banter, the fact that I'm just talking to you makes it all the better. I really don't know what I'm typing; I'm just typing to type. Ok, let's see, oh yeah, I put your letter in the mail on Friday, so it should arrive at your friend's house on Monday. Damn, I miss you. It sucks not being able to talk to you. If you get this sometime tonight, call me. It doesn't matter what time, I don't mind. Well except for if it's like 4 something in the morning, well what the hell, it's the weekend, go ahead and call. See what did I tell you, you get me with a computer and keyboard at night and I just write the most random stuff. HA! When you first open this e-mail your going to think this is some long nice e-mail, but no, it's just me typing nothing. I really like you; I think you have an awesome smile and a wonderful personality. Well I guess that's it for now. Sorry for taking up so much of your time. I will talk to you later.
~~Hehe, so I’m really bored right now though. I’m very close to starting that GSA at my school. I’m so excited. Everything else in life is pretty good, just busy with Student Council, radio, Show Choir, and everything else in the world! lol Well I’m tired, so Goodnight.

I am so happy right now. I’ve had the best night ever. I went to Michael’s school to see a pageant they have there. Jenifer and Jon came with me. It was so much fun; it’s too early in the morning so I don’t feel like writing out everything that happened. But here’s the e-mail I just wrote Michael, it kind of sums up what I’m feeling right now:
Hey, I'm at Jenifer's house right now. It's 1:29A.M. and I can't stop thinking about you tonight. I had such a fun time, and I hope you did to. It was soooo cute how you were shaking at first. That was the sweetest thing I've ever seen. I'm so happy that we "fit" together and that everything went smoothly. I don't know what else to say, I'm just so happy now. It's like, I've found someone who cares about me and is not out for some ass, and they actually want something more. You know how in another e-mail you said words can't express how you felt; well that's how I feel. Well I guess I'm done trying to write out my feelings. I'll try to call you Monday when I get home. Well I'll talk to ya later.
~~So yeah I’m pretty happy right now, yay! Have a good night or morning.

My life, has officially ended. The UPN people have just announced that Buffy will not return for an 8th season. This is the last season. What am I going to do? Here’s an article that E! Online just published.
"Buffy" Laid to Rest
Feb 27, 2003, 11:45 AM PT
The demons of Sunnydale don't have Buffy the Vampire Slayer to kick around anymore.
UPN has officially announced the cancellation of the series, as star Sarah Michelle Gellar leaves to concentrate on her big-screen career.
Earlier this week, it was announced that Gellar was close to signing on to the feature film Romantic Comedy. Production on the lovestruck spoof starts in August, ostensibly when Buffy would start filming on its eighth season. The casting news put a stake through Gellar's return to the UPN series.
Then word leaked of Gellar's come-clean interview in Entertainment Weekly's March 7 issue. "Buffy, in this incarnation, is over," said the actress, whose contract expires at the end of this season.
Finally on Thursday, 20th Century Fox Television and UPN confirmed what insiders already knew, production on the series would end this April after seven seasons and 144 shows.
The series finale will air May 20. While Eliza Dushku and Alyson Hannigan are both making crossover appearance on Angel and Buffy, this season there's no word if the titular lovers seperated by destiny, several hundred years and network rivals will finally reunite for the last episode.
"It's hard to believe it's over," said creator Joss Whedon in a written statement released through UPN Thursday. "Well, it's hard to think at all, or stand, or form vowel sounds, so maybe it's time to take a break. I'm just glad I can say we did our best on every single episode. We didn't always succeed, but we never slacked, and I'm immensely proud of my writers, actors and crew for that.
"And I'm proud of what this show means...I truly believe that in years to come, people will look back and say 'that was a show that was on TV.' Yessir. I truly do," said Whedon, who received an Emmy nomination for the creepy classic episode "Hush."
The eulogies were echoed by execs at 20th Century Fox and UPN. "Buffy the Vampire Slayer will go down in history as one of television's best shows and an enduring testament to the vision and genius of its creator Joss Whedon," said 20th Century Fox Television prez Dana Walden. "For seven years, Joss, his team of writers led by Marti Noxon and an extraordinary cast led by Sarah Michelle Gellar captured the cultural zeitgeist and effortlessly combined drama, action and humor. Without question, Buffy will live on for generations to come."
"We have been very fortunate to be the home to such a landmark series, always brilliantly written and acted," chimed in Dawn Ostroff UPN's entertainment boss. "I'd like to send a special thanks to the remarkably talented actors, producers, writers and crew who worked tirelessly through the years."
Gellar won the role of the Chosen One back in 1997 when Buffy the Vampire Slayer was nothing more than a punchline, based on the box-office bomb starring Kristy Swanson and Luke Perry (how bummed are they not to have signed on for the series?).
Prior to Buffy, Gellar was best known for her sudsy role as Kendall Hart, daughter of scheming Erica Kane (Susan Lucci) on All My Children, for which she won a Daytime Emmy.
Despite its dedicated fan base, Buffy would never win the thespian an Emmy (or even a nomination, though she was nominated for a Best Actress Golden Globe), but during her seven-season tenure Gellar managed to add multiple credits to her résumé. While pulling double duty as wisecracking schoolgirl and vampire slayer, Gellar also moonlighted during her hiatus in movies like Scream 2, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Cruel Intentions, Simply Irresistible and Scooby-Doo.
Gellar's break-neck schedule won't slow down, with the actress slated to begin production on Scooby-Doo Too with husband Freddie Prinze Jr. as soon as Buffy wraps. Warner Bros. is eyeing a summer 2004 release for the sequel with a script already in the works for the third installment of the franchise.
Rumors of Gellar's departure began lurking on the Internet last summer, when news that Buffy's sister Dawn (Michelle Trachtenberg) would have a larger role in the seventh season, prompting speculation that the demon-battling heroine would pass the stake on to her little sis.
Most recently, Dushku's name was put forward as a possible slayer sub for a potential spinoff series. Dushku joined the Scooby gang in the third season as rogue Slayer Faith, but an alliance with the dark side put an end to her time in Sunnydale.
Ultimately, the Hellmouth could go unprotected since a rep for the actress just confirmed she's inked a pilot deal with Fox for an untitled project from writer John Feldman, which would see Dushku as a morgue employee who talks to the dead instead of staking them. The corpses tell Dushku's character how they were murdered and every morning she relives the same day, hoping to set things right.
In addition, Buffy's executive producer Noxon has already been tapped for a new one-hour drama next season, leaving the fate of Sunnydale uncertain.
Still producers maintain the possibility that the slayer mythology lives on. According to the statement from 20th Century Fox and UPN: "Discussions regarding the future of the Buffy franchise and a possible spinoff are ongoing."

I’ve never had this before. There are two great people who are both interested in me and I don’t know what to do. One of them I like for all the right reasons. They’re smart, caring, considerate, artistic, and they know me like the back of their hand. The other person is the same but I kind of just met them so it’s new. I don’t know what to do. I asked Ryan and he said that I should date both, I can’t do that. That would just break me up inside; I can’t lie to people like that. Especially when it comes to something like this. It’s so over whelming at times, to think that people actually like me. They are interested in me and my ideas and what I have to say. My brain can’t wrap it self around that concept. I guess I just have to take it one day at a time. I just want to be honest with everyone and make the right decision. Let’s see, were planning more stuff in Student Council and more stuff. Oh yeah, I think I’m going to go ahead with my plans of starting a Gay/Straight Alliance at my school. I think it might work out, I don’t know. I hope it does. Well I guess that’s it for now.

Let’s, here's what has happened the past week. I got sick, which sucked. I’ve only been sick once this year, well now I can make that two times. Not much has happened. Well I had a long conversation with Michael yesterday about things. He is really good at reading me. But we talked about the future of us, well if there is one. I’ve always thought that I would just be alone for the rest of my life, but now all of a sudden there are two great people who are in my life and they actually like me for me I don’t know what the outcome will be. Time will only tell. I’m just going to go with the person who I feel most comfortable with. I don’t know, I guess we’ll see what’s going to happen.

Ok, yes I am a little disappointed. I was supposed to meet Michael this Monday at Lenox mall and were just going to hang out and talk, but it looks like it’s not going to happen. His friend got sick so he said he wouldn’t be able to come. I was ok but I feel a little bad now. I’ve grown a fond of him over the last couple of weeks so I was looking forward to hanging out with him, being in his presence. Sometimes it just seems as if nothing ever works out for me. But any who, when we were talking the other day he was talking about how he’s attracted more to my personality. That was cute, but then another time he said that when he first saw me he wasn’t attracted to me at all, but then when we got to know me he was attracted to my personality. I don’t mind him saying that, it just stings a little. It doesn’t really boost up my self-confidence. I really like Michael, but then there’s this other person, Owen who seems like a nice person. I haven’t really gotten to talk to him much but from when I have gotten to talk to him he seems like a cool person. I’m so stupid, I was just laughing at myself because I think it’s cool I can finally type with out looking at the keyboard. I can look straight at the screen, expect for when I get to a word I can’t spell, for some reason I look down at the keyboard like it’s going to help me. Well I guess that’s it for now. Oh yeah, I don’t have the internet right now—long story—so I have to write my blogs at home, then bring them to school and upload them to the site; that’s why my postings have been a bit irregular, but hopefully I will be back on the net, until then….. =)

It hurts like hell. That’s the one of the messages I got from watching “Waiting to Exhale.” It’s a very good movie. I’ve had two relationships in my life. The first one last for two weeks. I lost all my morals and values and did more then I ever should have with that person. Two days after we had been intimate he broke up with me. My second relationship lasted for about a month. I had no connection with this person. We were just together. I know I’m on 17 but it hurts that it seems like nothing can work out when it comes to relationships. I just want someone to be there for me and to make life a little bit more bearable. I know the day struggles of life aren’t going to get easier; it would be nice to have someone by my side. Last night I went to my friend Paola’s birthday party. It was really fun, I really enjoyed myself. At the party there seemed to be quite a few couples there. It just stung me every time I saw them together. I just wonder if I’m compatible to be with anyone. My personality is so weird and off the wall, would I be able to be with someone. But you know what, does it really matter if I’m compatible with some one. As long as I’m happy with who I am it should be all right.
“You don’t feel worthy to have someone love you.” Hmmm, I should explore that quote. Valentine’s Day is Friday. Yay for some people. I’ll probably be so busy with stuff at school that I won’t even think about it. But you know what, I think in the end I think it’s friends who make like fun and bearable. When something is wrong with your spouse or something goes bad in life the first person you usually call is your best friend. It’s nice to have someone to hold you, but in the end, the friends are probably going to be there for you.

What the hell is going on? I don’t understand. Feelings are hard to understand. There is Michael; I’ve been talking to him for a while now. It seems like we have a connection. I’m just scared to start a relationship; I don’t anything else bad to happen. We seem like we connect, we actually can hold a conversation together. I can talk to him and he can talk to me, or so I hope. I just don’t want to rush into anything and regret it later. Him and I have never met in real life, we’ve only talked on the phone and the net. He seems like really cool person. We both laugh at the same stupid things and have perverted minds, well except for mine is like five times worse then his, but I don’t think he knows that. But there are a few things that are getting in my way of starting anything. First, I don’t want to rush, this is has happened to me two times already where I rushed into a relationship and after a day I regretted it. Second, will he like the way I look. I have SUCH low self-esteem about how I look. I think I look like a beast. Third, when it comes to relationships I get very emotional. I want someone who will be there, who will hold my hand, give me a hug, kiss me, and we can both trade off on paying for dinner. Fourth, I wonder if he will fit in with my friends. My friends are a big part of my life and I put a lot of stock into their thoughts. Fifth, is this what I really want? Am I just jumping into my emotions and wanting to get some, or do I want a serious long-term relationship? Sixth, I think there might be some other opportunities out there, as in other people. I want to explore all my options and make sure I make the right decision. Right now I’m feeling an intense liking for Michael, but I want to make sure it’s 100% emotion, not just physical. I think that’s all I’m thinking right now. I guess I’ll just sleep on it and hopefully after MUCH thought I will come to a conclusion.

OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD!!!! I just told my mom I was gay. Holy Shit! And you know what, she was like, “Ok, I already know!” Dear freakin God, I haven’t sweated this much since the summer when I had to run. Oh god, I don’t know what to say. Wow. I had my mom read the article I wrote on gay teens. She then asked if it was about me and I told her no. We then talked about something else and then I just told her. She was like, “I still Love you, your still my Pooh, nothing has changed.” I don’t know what to say. I’m speechless. I’m so thankful. She then said she had a clue that I was because after a chorus concert at school she talked to my Chorus teacher and was like “He’s a faggot isn’t he?!” And I got really upset over that and she said she had a clue after that. Wow, I can’t believe it.

Thank you Lord! I’m single again! Luke and I both came to agreement that we would both just be friends. This is what he said:
HonCar: I think we are just friends pretty much right?
zack6674: yeah
zack6674: Is that cool?
HonCar: I mean it's kinda hard to talk to you since I have no clue when you get home.
zack6674: That's true, it's just hard for us to do things since I have school and you have school and work
HonCar: Well I mean I don't even know when you get home since you don't ever call me.
zack6674: I'm sorry, I'm just so tired by the time I get home. And when I do get home I have like shit loads of stuff to do.
zack6674: It's just hard for me to keep in contact with anyone
HonCar: yea
So now one chapter is closed and another one opens. (That sounds so corny! lol) But anyway, I’m glad that happened, I think we both felt that it was time for that to be over. Now it’s time for me to move on with life. Right now I’m not sad, but I’m sure tomorrow at a random time I’ll get a little sad. But I’ll be fine. Now it’s time for bed.

This weekend has been very interesting. On Thursday morning I woke up to 15-degree weather. To some people in the U.S. that’s nothing. But when it reaches 35 degrees people in Georgia start to scream. You can’t imagine (or maybe you can) how cold we were acting on Thursday morning. I was at my friends Jon’s house to be at the school early, I’m saying 5:30A.M. early. Jon and I are apart of our school’s Chorus program and we were headed to Savannah, Georgia to sing at this big convention. We were gone from Thursday morning, EARLY morning, to today, Saturday evening. The drive down was uneventful, most people were to sleepily to talk, some were to excited that all they could do was talk. We watched “Spiderman.” This was the first time I had ever seen this movie. It’s really bad. The visual effects are good, but that dialogue is horrible. We arrived and did some mindless activities. Savannah is a pretty town, but it smells, really bad! Later that night we went and saw some other choirs perform, they were kind of boring. After that we had time on River Street to do what ever we wanted. I went out to eat with Ryan, Dana, Matt, Jessica, Shannon, Sam, Katie, and Mallory. It was fun. Dana and Ryan are together, but to throw Ryan off at dinner Dana and I acted like we were together. It was so much fun. We even staged a fake kiss at the table with his video camera. After that I went back to the hotel room, talked to some people and crashed. The next morning we performed, had some free time on River Street again and then we all went out together to eat dinner. The place was supposed to be nice but turned out to be this hole in the wall. We still had so much fun while there. After wards we went back to the hotel and reeked havoc on the hotel. I went and got in the hot tub. I think that’s why I’m getting sick now. It was too cold outside. I went around and hung out with different people that night. After bed check my roommates and I sat up and talked. I learned A LOT about some people. I can’t say who or what, but I found out some VERY interesting facts about the people that I was rooming with. We talked until 4 this morning. Then we went to sleep, woke up like four hours later and we did some stuff I don’t remember and now I’m home. So that was my time in Savannah. It was fun; I got to learn a lot of things about people that I’ve known for a long time. I actually got to sit down with them and have intelligent conversations. I also told a lot of people about my sexual preference. It was really fun trip.

Today is Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Holiday. His birthday was a few days ago. Growing up as an African-American has meant many things to me. I’ve never really understood the message of Dr. king until now. When I was child I learned about Dr. King and knew all that he did, or so I thought. Every kid grows up knowing the “I Have a Dream” speech. But do they truly appreciate what he did for us? Do we, as Generation Y appreciate the struggles that our Grandmothers and Grandfathers went through. The other day my Grandmother and I were sitting down and watching a documentary on the Bus Boycotts and my Grandmother said she helped with that. She was involved with some of the marches. I mean, I was aware that my Grandmother was alive at that time, but it never surfaced in my mind that my Grandmother actually had a hand in the Civil Rights movement. I think we should all take a moment and think about the sacrifices that people have made for us.

This is so awesome. All my friends who go to my school know my obsession with Q100. It’s a radio station, it is so cool. I love their morning show, “The Bert Show” on Q100. It is so awesome. I interviewed the host, Bert, for a paper in English. I e-mailed it to him and this is what he wrote back:
“Hey Miguel,
Thanks so much for sending me the article. GREAT stuff. Really well written. You've made me trust the newspaper business again (kidding). One thing though. And I'm only going to give you this advice because I LOVE interviewing. Don't ever be afraid to ask the tough question. You said in your article that you were afraid to offend me about my life experience with my father. First, since I already commented publicly about it on the show you can assume that I'm comfortable talking about. Second, there's ALWAYS a way to ask a tough question without asking the actual question. You kinda got that when you asked about my childhood. But since I didn't give you the exact answer you were looking for you could have manipulated the question and asked "Did your parents have a big influence on your career?" At that point I probably would have answered your question by telling you that my dad
wasn't really supportive and then you could have skewed your line of questioning to that topic. If you chose radio, television or print...NEVER be afraid to ask the tough questions. Just be smart about it. Anybody can ask the easy questions but you have to remember that your audience is looking for some insight from your interview that they can't get from anybody else. When you ask the tough questions you achieve that goal. Just thought that might help ya in the future. Good luck, Miguel, and please keep me aware of your progress in the industry you chose.
Bert”
~~Wasn’t that awesome! I’m so excited. Maybe next time I’ll ask him if I can intern at the station this summer!
